Katrina Nicole/Blacartistry Paper Studio is a portfolio platform that showcases art celebrating the resilience, beauty, and spirit of Black women. My practice explores interiority and ritual, unconventional beauty, self- exploration and cultural reclamation rooted in Black diasporic identity. Through exploration of various modes of media, mark-making, symbolic color, and simple figurative portraiture , I investigate how personal and ancestral histories live in the body and emerge through visual language.

about the artist
Katrina Nicole is a mixed media artist educated in fashion design based in Maryland. Her art is influenced by African American folk artists, focusing on a rich tapestry of Black womanhood and generational resilience. Through a layered process that can involve tradional drawing and painting, collage, found objects and hand embellishments along with vibrant color palettes, she creates compositions that are a direct act of empowerment, celebrating identity and sparking urgent social dialogue. Katrina Nicole's visionary approach involves a pioneering, intentional fusion of human artistry and artificial intelligence. Some of her pieces encompass this controversial practice. As an artist, she reframes the technology as a dynamic, collaborative resource, creating innovative artworks that are both intellectually stimulating and deeply personal. Katrina Nicole is an essential voice addressing the intersection of representation, technology, and a celebration of Black culture.
